A New Beginning

At just sixteen years old, Jacob Hasky arrived in Panama from Israel. He moved in with his uncle and began working at a small retail shop on Avenida B called Almacén del Norte. It was a modest start rooted in resilience and ambition.

1966
First Steps in Retail

By nineteen, Jacob had saved enough to acquire his own clothing boutique in downtown Panama, Simplemente María. The shop quickly flourished, allowing him to open two additional locations in the years that followed. These early ventures became the foundation of his entrepreneurial path.

1975
Expanding Horizons

Jacob transitioned into wholesale by acquiring Morel in the Colón Free Zone. With one of the first textile licenses granted in the area, License Number 59, he established a footprint in international trade and set the stage for global distribution.

1988
Design with Purpose

The launch of Eurococinas marked the family’s entry into furniture design and manufacturing. Specialising in modular closet and kitchen systems, the company became known for its craftsmanship and efficiency, fabricating interiors for more than 6,000 apartments across Panama.

2001
A New Generation

Moises Hasky joined the family business after graduating from university. Together, father and son expanded their vision and entered Panama’s growing residential and commercial development space with a focus on quality and innovation.

2005
Entering Hospitality

The family unveiled the Veneto Hotel and Casino, which quickly became one of the most iconic destinations in Panama. That same year, they launched Bingo 90, securing the first private gaming license in the country. This marked their formal debut in the hospitality and entertainment industries.

2007
A Milestone Exit

The Veneto Hotel and Casino was sold to The Silverman Group, a private investment firm based in the United States. The transaction represented the family’s first major exit in the hospitality sector and a successful realization of their vision.

2010
Transitioning Forward

Bingo 90 was sold to CIRSA, a leading multinational gaming operator. The deal reflected the brand’s strength and the family’s ability to create high- value ventures.

2011
Living by the Sea

The launch of Vivir Frente al Mar introduced a new concept in coastal living. The brand elevated the standard of beachfront residences in Panama by merging design, lifestyle, and location into one seamless experience.

2012
A Landmarks Completed

The completion of Oceania Business Plaza marked a turning point in Panama’s commercial real estate landscape. With over 120,000 square meters of Class A office space across two towers in Punta Pacifica, the project set a new benchmark for design, scale, and location. For JMH Capital, it represented not just a construction milestone but a flagship asset in their growing real estate portfolio.

Raising the Bar

Sortis Hotel, Spa and Casino opened its doors as part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. With cutting-edge architecture, vibrant energy, and thoughtful curation, Sortis became a benchmark for luxury hospitality in Panama City.

Coming Full Circle

Nearly two decades after its sale, the family reacquired the Veneto Hotel. Reimagined as Waymore Hotel, the property reflects a new era in hospitality by combining contemporary aesthetics with a legacy of excellence and innovation.
